Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered Review – To Play or Not

Assassins Creed Rogue Remastered Review

Assassin’s Creed is one of the best series in Action – Adventure open world games from Ubisoft. Four years ago in 2014, they released one of its installment named Assassin’s Creed Rogue for PS3 and Xbox 360. Later, after 4 months it also hit PCs. The game was okay, not so good, like many of its other installments such as Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag or Assassin’s Creed Unity. So, the game was 6 out of 10.

Now, after 4 years, Ubisoft has released it again for new gen gaming consoles PS4 and Xbox One, with name Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered. Well, Ubisoft says, it is Remastered for PS4 and Xbox One. There’s not lot more changes in the game story or gameplay, but trust me, Graphics has a lot enhancements with improved shadows and lighting. You can now enjoy the game in 4K textures on these new gaming consoles with Rogue Remastered.

Story:

Assassins Creed Rogue Remastered Story

Even if you have played the original one back in 2014, you must think about playing it again in Remastered because the story of Shay Patrick Cormac who is an Assassin turned Templar – is still worth knowing. He was a fearless young member of the Assassin Brotherhood, who has now turned his back on Assassins to wipe out all who turned against him. You as Shay Patrick Cormac is now the most dangerous hunter of Assassins in history.

Overall, the main campaign is as long as ten hours. The combat takes place on both land and sea, but as i said, you are gonna love sea more than the land. You must upgrade yourself time to time but the problem is all upgrades could be found only after completing the story, and not from the beginning even though you have all the required materials for upgrade.

Improvements:

Talking about the graphics enhancements, you will love the visuals. Especially the beauty of the Sea throughout the journey. The game is set in North America of 18th Century with wild river valley, and far away to the icy cold waters. It is a must journey through New York City. Ubisoft has remastered all its aspects including environment rendering, upscaled shadow resolution and denser crowd. Though you can enjoy the game at 4K resolution, the FPS is still locked at 30 fps, sadly.  Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered comes packed with all previously released DLC.

Conclusion:

Though there are so many visual enhancements made, for PS4 and Xbox One, the Rogue Remastered doesn’t feels so much great or any different from the original Rogue that was launched earlier. Especially after playing next-gen Assassin’s Creed Origins. The new combat system, stealth and overall design of Remastered doesn’t feels any different from many other games launched lately. This could be the best of January 2018 for those who missed original Assassin’s Creed Rogue (2014).
