Most of the region around the world is not on 4G LTE, experiencing fast internet to download/upload or share their important files or data that helps them live their personal or professional lives comfortably.
But, have you imagined what can you do with 5G?
Well, you can do much more, of course. The official specifications of next generation data standard is announced and trust me, it is awesome. Not only you gonna get lightening speed but also ultra-reliable communications for broadband and IoT. With 5G, you will get up to 10Gbps upload speed and 20Gbps download speed.
As per International Telecommunication Union (ITU), 5G must support at least 1 million connected devices per square KM. The minimum requirements for peak data rate, peak spectral efficiencies and target values for the user experienced data rate (in the Dense Urban – eMBB test environment):
- Downlink peak data rate is 20 Gbit/s
- Uplink peak data rate is 10 Gbit/s
- Downlink peak spectral efficiency is 30 bit/s/Hz
- Uplink peak spectral efficiency is 15 bit/s/Hz
- Downlink user experienced data rate is 100 Mbit/s
- Uplink user experienced data rate is 50 Mbit/s
You must check the IMT-2020 standardization process below that shows how 5G draft spec will be turned into real technology by 2020.
Well, this draft report by ITU should be finalized probably by November 2017 without any significant changes. Some big tech brands like Qualcomm, Intel, Samsung Nokia, and many others have already started working and planning for 5G.
